Carlton Cuse is a busy, busy man. The USA Network announced their 2014-15 development slate today, and it includes Colony, written and executive produced by Cuse, who also just had The Returned ordered straight to series by A&E, plus The Strain premiering in July, and Bates Motel renewed for season 3.
Colony synopsis: In 2015, Los Angeles exists in a state of occupation. Some collaborate with the alien authorities and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences. COLONY is a naturalistic drama about a family torn by those opposing forces, making difficult choices as they balance keeping their family together with the struggle of the human race. A co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, COLONY was written and is executive produced by Cuse and Ryan Condal (The Sixth Gun).
The Returned is a remake of the french version of the show, which the show is based off a french movie called They Came Back. Not to be confused with the BOOK "The Returned" which is actually what the show Ressurrection is based from. I have saw all of the above and am currently reading the book. The returned is much darker than Resurrection, and I think having him on board will be great for the show.
There is a new show out, (five episodes have aired) called The 100. As I was watching it, I saw alot of LOST comparisions. I had to google and found that the producer is not only a fan of LOST, but that they have put in similarites that are intentional.
I’d also like to point out Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond) is also in the show. (with a very formal American accent).
I don’t want to put all the things out in case someone decides to give the show a try, but trust me, you will see what I am talking about within the first episode.
David’s role/destiny Is there to help Jack move on supporting arguments He’s a surrogate son so…
After posting Juliet’s Pregnancy (which was validated by Elizabeth Mitchell herself.) I started to see some extremely…wrong…conspiracies as to why/how David even existed. The link I’ve provided is all the “conspiracy theories”, such as it was Jack and Kates son (wrong), Sawyer and Kates son (wrong), it was Aaron (wrong) and it was Jack himself. How people come up with some of these is beyond me.
The Lostpedia of David Shephard is quite small: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/David_Shephard
In the LOST Encyclopedia, the only book where Cuse and Lindelof ever have a say, David’s page is also rather blank. “David was an accomplished pianist, something Jack gave up on to pursue medicine. Jack read “Alice Adventures in Wonderland” to David as a chlid, just as Christian did to Jack. Perhaps most important, Locke pointed out to Jack that David looked just like him. “Is that your son, he looks just like you.”
It can be argued that David looked like Kate as well. Nothing the directors did was ever random. Consider the fact we were waiting for the bombshell of who the mother really was until mid episode. We were to assume it was Kate’s, because they were together before they left for the island. Kate could have had a sustainable pregnancy, because as long as you were off the island in the first three months, or were pregnant before you got on it, you would have a live child. Kate did not need a child to finish her life (or death) experience. As stated through other books on the series, Aaron was a guiding source for her. (LOST Identity, LOST Humanities).
When I made the comment about maybe it was Juliets unborn baby, at least it has more proof than these conspiracies. Juliet WAS pregnant just before the bomb, and did not get to see her child. Jack had to get over his “daddy issues”, whether it was raising a child, or (re)raising himself in the way he would have like to be raised (theory). The only parents for this phantom child would be Jack and Juliet. To date, no other proof has come to light to explain it any differently. Every theory is just that…a theory.
BTW Evangeline Lilly stated via twitter she thought she would be pregnant with Jacks baby at the end, and wasnt. Need more proof?
The series involves a plane crash, leaving the surviving passengers of Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 on a deserted tropical island.
This and other articles are being spawned by the news and social media comparing the lost Malaysian flight 370 to Oceanic 815. They even have fake passports.
"Could it be a reality show?" (Look to twitter, theories abound).
However, the Dragons Triangle in the “Devils Sea” off of Japan (the “other” Bermuda Triangle” and supposed wormhole through time) isn’t in the same spot where this plane lost contact. It was brought up in LOST conspiracy boards while the show was live that they used that supposed wormhole to get back to the island.
It is interesting that they are now saying it may have went down in the Indian Sea, off of Austrailia.
Hey it’s Kendyl again and here’s my second Lost Tattoo! Oceanic 815, I watched this show through a time in my life when I was very ill and in and out of hospitals constantly. When I saw the pilot episode and the little story Jack told Kate as she stitched him up it stuck with me. I used that “count to 5” tactic many times when I was scared in the hospital and this tattoo was my reminder:)
